Cassandra Pilcher, Intern

Hello! My name is Cassandra. I primarily provide individual counseling services for adolescents, young adults, and adults. I also am in the process of becoming a Licensed Be Body Positive group facilitator. I specialize in working with eating disorders, disordered eating, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ issues.

I am currently pursing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Illinois University with a Trauma Certification.

I consider myself a Health at Every Size (HAES) provider and I take a holistic approach to working with individuals and firmly believe in the inherent worth and value of every individual regardless of your body shape, size, or ability level.

I believe there is power in creating a compassionate, safe and non-judgmental space within the therapy room, in which you can show up and be your true, authentic self. I am honored to work with you throughout this process and witness your healing journey and my number one goal will be always to create that space for you. Together, we will work to develop your treatment goals and plans.

I utilize an integrated approach to therapy that includes Feminist Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Systems Theory. I do frequently pull interventions from other modalities as well, depending on what you need as the client. I practice from a lens of social justice and intersectional feminism.

Therapy can be uncomfortable and scary, but please don’t let this stop you from taking the step. Let’s process the fears together and start working towards building yourself a value driven life.

“Worthiness doesn’t have prerequisites.”
