Trauma & Abuse Recovery

We are a big believer in the fact that trauma is subjective which means that trauma can be identified as anything to anyone. There is not one person in the world that can tell you that your trauma isn’t real or that it didn’t occur. Trauma presents in various forms such as sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, accidents and injuries, major life transitions, natural disasters, a toxic relationship, etc. The list goes on and on.

During the past 7 years of providing individual, family, and couples therapy, we have learned that trauma plays a large role in our client’s lives. At some point in everyone’s life, we experience something that is difficult, emotional, or that we wish we had never experienced. As we began to recognize this pattern, we became more and more interested in trauma and started to incorporate trauma-informed interventions into our sessions.
