Amanda Niro, MA, LPC Pending
My name is Amanda, and I am both humbled and excited to bring my expansive life experience into a sacred space designed to guide, help, heal and transform. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and family and relationship issues.
As a mother of five adult children, I have felt both the joy and suffering; love and pain, that coincides with many stages of life, including family of origin, marriage, relationships, life transitions, cultural differences and the issues that bring stress to our youth from childhood through early adulthood.
I have a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling. I believe that treating the whole person provides the best pathway toward successful outcomes. By listening to your story, together, we can develop effective coping skills and change old unhealthy and meaningless habits into new patterns that are productive and meaningful.
Using techniques from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy, I will accompany you through a process that can be life changing. By simply changing a negative, shame and guilt filled narrative and replacing it with a new narrative focused on strengths, competencies, love, and forgiveness, we can move from despair to hope, from feeling stuck, to a renewed life-giving purpose.
Every person possesses gifts that make us unique and special. I want to help you unlock those gifts to reach your full potential. I strongly believe that change is possible. I am hopeful that I can help you reach your goals and transform your life in ways you never thought possible.
**I am bilingual (English and Greek). I have a great understanding of the culture, religion and family issues that may contribute to suffering and struggles. I can provide therapy services in either language.
