Crystine DeCant, Intern
Hello! My name is Crystine. I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transition issues, stress, and difficulty with pain management and chronic illness.
As a dedicated mental health counselor, I am passionate about supporting individuals facing a range of challenges. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s in mental health counseling at Northwestern University, where my journey into the field is fueled by a deep desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and trained in a unique approach that integrates neuroscience, psychology, and somatic techniques to address the brain’s role in pain. By focusing on how the brain interprets pain signals, I help clients treat pain at its source rather than just manage symptoms. Together, we work to calm the nervous system, restore a sense of safety and control, and create lasting change—ultimately reducing pain and improving quality of life.
Having witnessed the profound impact that mental health can have on overall quality of life, I am motivated by the opportunity to help clients navigate their unique struggles and find effective coping strategies. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and compassionate space to explore their thoughts and feelings, and I strive to create an environment where clients feel heard and empowered.
My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, drawing from evidence-based practices to tailor interventions that meet the individual needs of each client. I am particularly interested in working with those undergoing significant life changes, helping them adapt and thrive amidst uncertainty.
Through my work, I aim to instill hope and inspire positive change, guiding clients on their journey toward healing and personal growth. I am honored to be a part of this transformative process and am looking forward to working with you!
