Maria Kuzniar, Intern
Hello! My name is Maria. I specialize in working with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, life transition issues, and stress. While I primarily work with adolescents and young adults, I welcome clients of all ages.
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Adult Development. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University.
In my practice, I incorporate multiple therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and psychodynamic approaches. I aim to utilize therapeutic techniques that best meet each client’s unique needs. My philosophy is to address the mental health concerns of my clients from a holistic and culturally relevant perspective to promote long-term growth and healing.
I strive to empower clients by providing them with encouragement, compassion, empathy, and understanding. I meet clients where they are and work with them to navigate their life’s challenges. No matter what your goals for therapy may be, I am here to assist you in your journey.
